One honest note about hail and metal: a two-inch stone will dent a standing-seam panel. It won't leak, it won't fail, and it's usually cosmetic — but many Oklahoma policies now exclude cosmetic damage to metal roofs, so the dents may be yours to keep. Is a metal roof worth it in Broken Arrow?

Standing seam costs about twice what Class 4 shingle does and lasts two to three times as long, with lower cooling bills and no granules to lose. If you're selling in five years, put the money in Class 4 and keep the difference.
Will hail dent a metal roof?

Does my HOA allow metal?
